A grain air conditioner (also known as a grain cooler or grain refrigeration unit) is a specialized industrial cooling system designed to preserve the quality of bulk-stored agricultural products, such as corn, wheat, soybeans, and rice.

Why Is a Grain Air Conditioner Necessary?

Stored grain is a living organism that generates heat and moisture. Without intervention, this leads to:

  • Insect Infestation: Most grain-damaging insects become dormant and stop breeding at temperatures below 15°C.
  • Mold & Mycotoxins: High temperatures and humidity promote the growth of fungi, which can ruin an entire silo and create toxic byproducts.
  • Mass Loss: Through "cellular respiration," grain literally burns off its own weight (carbohydrates) when warm. Cooling significantly slows this process.

Application

Grain Air Conditioner is suitable for low-temp ventilation of various types of grain and oil in different types of warehouses such as vertical silos, shallow round silos, and flat warehouses. It is also suitable for horizontal grain cooling and ventilation of flat warehouses such as rice, wheat, and corn.

Working Principle

The ambient air after filtration enters the evaporator to be cooled, and the air temperature decreases and the humidity increases. The cold humid air is heated by the heating system and then dried, and then the centrifugal fan (frequency conversion speed control) will send the air with temperature and humidity in line with the set value into the warehouse. The temperature and humidity of the air supply are automatically controlled and regulated by the PLC system.

Packing & Delivery

To ensure the Grain Air Conditioner can be loaded into the container and remains intact during transport, the factory will remove the wheels after the unit has been tested and wrapped with plastic film to prevent scratches. Before loading, fixed supports, wooden strips, and foot pads will be placed inside the container to prevent the unit from moving during transport. After the unit is loaded into the container, additional reinforcing straps will be added for secondary securing.
