The high-quality air cooled scroll chiller manufactured by Hisurp factory operates based on the mature and efficient vapor compression refrigeration cycle, realizing continuous and stable fluid cooling for commercial and industrial scenarios. The whole working process consists of four core stages: compression, condensation, throttling and evaporation, with every component cooperating efficiently to ensure reliable cooling performance.
Firstly, the built-in hermetic scroll compressor sucks low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas from the evaporator, compresses it into high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant, which lays the foundation for heat exchange. Secondly, the high-pressure refrigerant flows into the air-cooled condenser, where the ambient air driven by axial fans takes away the heat of the refrigerant, cooling it down and turning it into high-pressure liquid refrigerant. Different from water-cooled chillers, this air-cooled structure requires no cooling tower, saving installation space and operation costs greatly.
Then, the liquid refrigerant passes through the throttling device, where the pressure and temperature drop sharply to form low-pressure low-temperature gas-liquid mixture. Finally, the mixed refrigerant enters the evaporator and fully absorbs heat from circulating water or glycol fluid, cooling the fluid to the set temperature for production and equipment cooling. After heat absorption, the refrigerant turns into gas again and returns to the compressor to start a new cycle. Many users will confuse air cooled scroll chiller and air cooled screw chiller in equipment selection. Although both belong to air-cooled industrial chillers and adopt air heat dissipation, they have essential differences in core structure, working principle, cooling capacity range, operating performance, and applicable scenarios. Understanding the differences can help users select the most suitable cooling equipment accurately.
The core difference between the two chillers lies in the compressor structure and compression mode. The air cooled scroll chiller relies on the orbital motion of dynamic and static scroll disks to compress refrigerant gas. The compression process is continuous and stable, with small torque fluctuation, no impact vibration, and extremely low operating noise. The overall structure of the scroll compressor is simple, with fewer wearing parts, and the failure rate is greatly reduced.
In contrast, the air cooled screw chiller adopts twin-screw compressors composed of male and female helical rotors. The two rotors mesh with each other and rotate at high speed, squeezing the refrigerant gas through the volume change of the tooth groove to complete compression. The screw compressor has a complex structure, high machining precision requirements for rotor parts, and more wearing parts. Although it can support high-load continuous operation, its operating vibration and noise are slightly higher than those of scroll compressors.
In terms of cooling capacity, the air cooled scroll chiller is positioned for medium and small cooling loads, with a single-unit cooling capacity generally ranging from 3HP to 200HP. It has excellent part-load operating efficiency. In daily operation, most scenarios do not need full-load cooling. The scroll compressor can adjust the operating state in real time according to the load, with low energy consumption in low-load operation and high comprehensive energy-saving efficiency.
The air cooled screw chiller is oriented to high-power and large-load cooling demands, with a single-unit cooling capacity starting from 200HP, which can meet the cooling needs of large industrial plants, large commercial complexes, and district central cooling projects. Its advantage lies in full-load high-efficiency operation, and it can operate stably for 24 hours under high load. However, the energy consumption of screw chillers is higher when running under low load for a long time, and the part-load efficiency is inferior to that of scroll chillers.
