How it Works: A sophisticated master controller intelligently stages these modules on and off based on the real-time cooling demand (load).

Free cooling, also known as air side or water side economization, is the process of using cool outdoor air to provide cooling without running the energy-intensive compressors.
How it Works: The system is equipped with an additional plate heat exchanger. When sensors detect that the outdoor temperature is low enough, it automatically switches modes:
Mechanical Cooling Mode: When outdoor temps are high, the system operates as a standard air cooled scroll chiller, rejecting heat through its condenser.
Free Cooling Mode: In colder weather, valves redirect the warm water from the building loop through the free cooling heat exchanger. The cold outdoor air (often via a cooling tower) absorbs the heat directly, bypassing the compressors entirely. The compressors remain off, saving massive amounts of energy.
Integrated Mode: In mild weather, the free cooling system pre-cools the water, significantly reducing the workload on the compressors.
