What is a Marine Dx Unit?

A Marine Dx Unit (Marine Direct Expansion Unit) is a direct expansion air conditioning unit specifically designed for ships and marine engineering. "Direct expansion" means the refrigerant expands and absorbs heat directly in the evaporator, eliminating the need for an intermediate refrigerant, thus achieving higher heat exchange efficiency and faster cooling.

This product features an integrated design, combining a compressor, condenser, evaporator, fan, and control system. Overseas Project Case Study — Marine AHU

Project Name: Nordic Offshore FPSO Living Module Central Air Conditioning System Project

Project Background: Nordic Offshore's FPSO living module (accommodating 120 crew members) in the North Sea required an upgrade to its central air conditioning system, meeting stringent requirements including varying temperature and humidity levels in different areas, multi-stage filtration, high salt spray corrosion resistance, and integration with the ship's integrated management system.

Solution: Hisurp provided two Marine AHUs (25,000 m³/h airflow, 120 kW cooling capacity, 80 kW heating capacity), employing centralized air handling with zoned temperature control; G4+F7+HEPA H13 multi-stage filtration effectively filters salt spray and microorganisms; utilizes waste heat from the main engine cylinder liner for heating, achieving 40% energy savings; copper-nickel alloy heat exchangers with marine-grade anti-corrosion coating, passing salt spray tests ≥1000 hours; PLC controller integrated with the IAS system, achieving temperature control accuracy ±0.5℃ and humidity control accuracy ±5%.

Implementation Results: The temperature in the living area remained stable at 22℃±0.5℃, humidity at 50%±5%, and air quality was significantly improved; zero malfunctions occurred during six months of operation; winter heating energy consumption was reduced by 40%; and remote monitoring and fault early warning were implemented.
